Data Protection

Stoke Newington Quaker meeting abides by regulations set in law regarding Data Protection and by the practices of Britain Yearly Meeting (BYM) and North London Area Quaker Meeting (NLAQM) intended to comply with the Data Protection Act 1988.

Each year our meeting responds to these three questions asked by Area meeting, the answers to which are passed to Yearly meeting:

1) are all persons in service to the meeting aware of the BYM data safety pages available on the BYM website?
2) are all those not in membership and listed in our ‘book of members and attenders’ aware that their details are in the book and that they have the right to ask to see what details we hold about them?
3) how many requests has the meeting received from those not in membership to see all data held about themselves?

In 2016 SNQ replied to these thus, as recorded in SNQ minute 16/45:
1) Yes
1) Yes
1) None
