
Fly Kites not Bombs Workshops & Peace Event
All age kite making workshops to make kites with wishes for peace, based on an awareness of the lives of children in Afghanistan and other places where drones are used.
All workshops are free, £2.50 donations for kite making kits welcome. Exact change on the day please.

10.30-11.30 “Ethics of Bombing and Drones” workshop. This workshop is suitable for young people and adults aged 11+, including children workers and teachers. Through this workshop you can explore different perspectives on drone warfare and its impacts.
11.45-12.15 “Make a kite for peace” all-age workshop.
13.30-14.30 “Find your wish” workshop. Suitable for primary-aged children and their parents. (Interested teachers also welcome). This interactive workshop draws on the story of a 7-year-old Afghan boy and his new kite, to explore life in countries affected by drones, human rights, children’s rights, and our wishes for the world.
14.45-15.15 “Make a kite for peace” all-age workshop.
15.30 Fly kites for peace as a public symbol of our wishes for peace, and for a world where children in all countries can experience the skies as a source of joy rather than a source of fear of aerial attack. (all welcome, Clissold Park, lower field on Green Lanes side, N16 9HJ)
